Printer-friendly version Larry the Cable Guy hits Purdue with redneck humorBy Lisa PoppeAssistant Features Editor Remaining tickets are still on sale for comedian Larry the Cable Guy, who will perform at 8 p.m. Friday, April 8 in Elliott Hall of Music. Larry’s appearance is part of the "Git-R-Done" tour sponsored by the Student Concert Committee. Previously appearing on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, Larry has gained popularity with his "down-home type of humor" and has already sold over 4,000 tickets for Purdue’s home stage, said Laura Clavio, assistant director of Purdue Convocations. Larry decided to pursue comedy full-time in 19880 and had early appearances on "Evening at The Improv," "Comic Strip Live," Comedy Central, MTV and Showtime. He then moved his act to a Tampa, Fla., radio station in 1992 and is now featured daily in 14 markets. Along with having toured on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, Larry makes regular appearances on "Jeff Foxworthy’s Country Countdown Show" which is heard on the "John Boy & Billy Show" and is also a guest on the nationally syndicated "Bob & Tom Show." Along with his radio and stage performances, Larry is also a part of Warner Brothers Television’s "Blue Collar TV" with Foxworthy and Bill Engvall. Tickets are $39.75 and can be bought at the box office or through Ticketmaster outlets. Printer-friendly version |
