My name is Daniel Lestinsky and I am currently a senior in the College of Education and student teaching at Southmont High School in Crawfordsville. My government class recently organized a mock presidential election as a class project.
Part of the project required the students to ask several Purdue student organizations for a donation to fund our election. The Purdue College Republicans came through with a donation to help us buy materials to make our campaign posters for both parties. Below I have included a thank-you letter written by my students to show their appreciation.
College Republicans,
Thank you so much for your donation to the Southmont High School Government class! The money you have provided was used to inform the Southmont student body about the presidential candidates through campaign posters and signs. Without your support our election would have not been a success!
Thank You,
Mr. Lestinsky’s 5th-hour Government
I would also like to extend a thank you to the Purdue College Republicans. Their donation aided my students in understanding the importance fundraising plays in elections. Their philanthropy should set an example for all Purdue student organizations.
